MY NAME

The name of Francesca gives you a clever, quick, analytical mind, but you suffer with a great deal of self-consciousness, lack of confidence, and much aloneness because of misunderstandings. Your idealistic and sensitive nature gives you a deep appreciation for the finer things of life and a strong desire to be of service to humanity. There are times when you experience inner turbulence at your inability to say what you mean. It is far easier for you to express your deeper thoughts and feelings through writing than verbally. You find pleasure in literature, in poetry, and in your ideals and will turn to them when you feel you have been misunderstood. You are deeply moved by the beauties of life, especially nature.

50° anniversario del ritorno di Trieste all'Italia

Saturday, October 23, 2004

Ok. Lazy Fran is back to this blog. Izumi I wish I was as a good blogger as you are :)
I have the adsl connection again, and I don't know how I survived 20 days without it *LOL*
I haven't found a job yet, but don't ask me why I don't post every day.
Proably I will do it when I have a job *Smile*.
Anyway, I have worked at the 4th layout for this blog. I wanted to use my sister's new digital photocamera: the 2 images you can see are some photos I took and edited. Needless to say, the toys you can see are mine and I simply adore them :)

What happened in the last days?

Well, as many of you already know October 13th was my 26th birthday. I am more and more depressed as I'm getting older, anyway many nice friends remembered me and made me happy. Thanks to Kate, Cecilia, Orfeo, Herm, Nicoletta, Erika, Koro, Paola, Yasuko, Yokko, Erina, Lara, Katia, Youko, Deanna, Masasumi for their greetings.
I got some lovely presents:
*Laptop computer from my family (actually this is my graduation + birthday delayed present)
*Wool knitted coat from my brothers (I simply love it)
*Many nice little things from Yokko
*A wonderful Art Pen (by Rotring) by Erika
*A simply marvellous greeting card from Deanna
...I am also waiting for 2 presents from Yasuko and Anna. I already know what the presents are, and I can't wait to have them in my hands :)

October 22nd was my brothers Antonio and Paola's birthdays. I cooked some delicious omelettes with chocolate and nuts cream, a coconut pudding and other dishes. My mother made Tiramisu... Needless to say, I'd better not check my weight in these days! Argh!

Movies I saw recently?
*Maid in Manattan starring Jennifer Lopez. Terrible.
*King Arthur. I saw it at the cinema with my sister, after a delicious dinner at the "Cina Cina" Chinese restaurant. I liked the movie, so it was a perfect evening.

Well. That's all. I don't need to add that the volume of Garasu no Kamen of this month almost made me fall down. It happens every month :) I wonder what will happen to me in a few month, when there will be no volumes any longer *_*

Sigh! I thought it would be easier without adsl... It takes me hours just to check my mail boxes, and then I have to disconnect, write all the messages
offline and wait for the next connection to send/post messages. I was used to doing anything online :) I have to update all my fanlistings! Well. I'll stop
complaining about it. I'm just sorry I can't comment my friends' blogs so often.
I've seen several movies in the last period. I wish I had read many books as well. Modern Times and The Great Dictator by Charlie Chaplin. The first one was nice, but I prefer the second one (which I had already seen when I
was a child)
Perfect Murder starring hot Viggo Mortensen, Gwynet Paltrow and Micheal Douglas. I have never seen the original movie by Alfred Hitchcock (and I want to see it as soon) anyway I liked this one. And I liked Viggo a lot, though Aragorn will always be his best and sexiest character *_*
Lantana which is not a famous movie, but I recommend it to anyone who likes detective stories.
A beautiful Mind starring Russell Crowe. Against all expectations, I loved it! I don't like Russell Crowe (though I adore the movie
Gladiator), and all the people I know told me it is a bad, bad movie. Well,I liked it. I want to see King Arthur next week.
Also, my sister and mother almost contaminated me with a sort of addiction to the TV series CSI Miami. Actually I'm not crazy for this kind of trashy American stuff, but I ended up with loving it. Well, I still can live without it. I miss some episodes sometimes, but I'm happy when I don't :) I have to close my eyes when there are disgusting scenes (a lot of blood, badly injured dead bodies and so on) and I have to switch my brain off very often to watch their incredible investigations (it's quite science fiction and they pretend it's just high technology and science!). But well, it's funny after all. And my sister and I are big fans of Horatio (David Caruso). ^_^O k, I should be ashamed of what I wrote. I bet nobody watches this stuff because it's broadcasted on Friday evening, and normal people goes out on Friday evening ^_^
Maria Chiara and Marco are in Japan. I wish I could spend much time online so that we could chat! Miss you guys!
On October 2nd I visited an important factory in Trieste: (Illy Caffè). It was very interesting. Illy is the most important (and expensive) coffee brand in Trieste. I wish I could work there! I guess I'm not the one hehe. But, a few days ago, I got a letter from them, in reply to the CV I sent some time ago. Well, it was a negative answer. But at least they answered. ^_^I put a photo of me and other 2 visitors in my personal website. At Illy caffè they took pictures of visitors, and also they gave each one a small present: a packet of coffe and a 'Illy Collection' coffee cup. It was really worth while visiting it! I had to book my visit a couple of weeks before that day, because the number of visitors was limited. I hope I'll have other chances to enter that company hehe
This weekend is a special weekend for Trieste. Every year in this period it's held the famous regatta Barcolana. The competition take place on Sunday, but all the weekend long there are concerts, stands, fireworks and a lot of people. All these things are hard to see in Trieste (especially a lot of people, even in the weekends!). On Friday I've been downtown in the crowd with Elisa, Gianluca and Bruno. We wandered around, watched the yachts and boats, and and we took a look at all the stands. On Saturday evening there were a lot of people around, and it was nicer. I had a pizza with Elisa, her Dutch/English/living-in-Switzerland friend Mark, and two nice couples. Then we had an other look at the stands, I met a lot of Univestity mates of mine (which I had already met on Friday. Trieste is small!). There was a concert on the main square next to the sea, and after that my beloved fireworks. I'll never be fed up with fireworks. I could stare at them for hours! I'm always so excited when I watch them, like a child! It was a very nice evening. Elisa's friends are very nice. The funny thing is that I had to speak English with Mark, and I realized how bad and poor my English is! Anyway, I managed to keep a conversation, and I understood everything he said. I'm very proud of myself, though I think he laughed at my and the other people's English. Elisa speaks perfectly English and French, and still she says that she forgot everything ç_ç
On Sunday afernoon we should have gone out for a walk, but the weather was bad, so I stayed at home.
Well, this post is getting too long and I don't think anyone will ever read it. I seldom post here, but when I post a message, it takes ages to read it *LOL*
Other important events?Well, I'll cut it short.
* I'm attending some courses at the new gym, and I am loving it there.
* I'm looking for some other courses to attend (esp. computer ones).
* A letter of mine was published on Orpheus no mado n.7. I didn't even remember that I wrote it. It was just a 'wow! Thank you!' message that I sent
to the publishing house when I was told that Orumado would be published in Italy. It was a surprise for me!
* It seems that Haikarasan ga Tooru will be re-published in Italian. If it is true, I'm so proud of myself, because I organized a petition a
year ago, and thanks to Martina (Shoujo Manga Outline) more than 400 names were collected. I hope we will succeed!
* Kate told me it's 5 years we'be been pen pals (I don't know how she manage to remember the date when I wrote her for the first time! I just remember
her birthday!). She's one of the 2 longest-date penpals of mine, and I am always grateful to her for all the patience she has. Kate, you're such a marvellous e-friend! Thanks for everything you did for me :)
* Ferrari and Valentino Rossi won. It's not a surprise, but it's always good news. I'm happy when Italy can do something good!
* Needless to say, I'm sorry for the 2 Italian girls who probably died in Taba because of the terrorist attack, and for all the victims of terrorist attacks but I don't feel like talinkg about it. I don't feel talking about politics and such any longer. There's always a friend who complains about my believes. Ok. I'll shut up :)
