Again, about Garasu no Kamen 42.
Thanks to Ayako and Valinor and thanks to my finally tranquil state of mind, I am reconsidering and revaluing it.
I still have the same ideas as before. I expected too much from this volume, and the thing that made me angry was mostly the fact that I do not know when I will read the next volume. Maybe I secretly expected a kind of ending volume, or something like that. Well, many things have to happen yet.
Anyway, my friends persuaded me that the last scene of the manga will lead to a turning point.
I am still disappointed at Masumi's behaviour, but Valinor and Ayako (whom I will adore from now on) suggested me and other fans a new point of view to read volume 42. And from this point of view, once again, Miuchi Sensei is a genius.
From this point of view, there is no doubt that the manga will be shorter and we are at a real turning point. I hope so!!!
What I didn't understand at the first reading is that Masumi Hayami just wants Maya to run away from the party as soon as possible, in order to protect her especially from Eisuke.
The most people didn't get this, at least at the first reading.
If this inerpretation is correct, this would be the first time that Miuchi sensei hasn't written what Masumi is thinking. And this would be the first time that Masumi hasn't spent too much time thinking: he acted immediately.
He didn't even asked why Maya was at the party! Is this a good sign? Maybe Masumi finally learnt to react? Oh...I am getting crazy!!!
Now, we can still hope for a better future for Maya and Masumi! Oh, I do hope so!!!
Ok. I am not 100% crazy yet. Only 99% :)

I have finally read Garasu no Kamen, volume 42!
My life will not be the same from now on.
I can't believe I will not have my monthly dose any longer.
I feel so bad!
Anyway...My comments about the volume I read...
I will copy and paste what I wrote to my Japanese friend, right after reading the tankoubon.

Warning!!! SPOILERS!

I quite liked it but I have to tell you some points at which I am a little too much disappointed!I'll try to explain. It will not be easy for me. Please try to understand.

1. The characters became more stupid and blinder than at the beginning, instead of growing up and becoming more mature.
Especially Masumi Hayami, after the wonderful confession of Maya at the river, he forgot everything...And at Shiori's party, he acts bad towards Maya. I do not like it. He is very selfish!How can he expect that Maya stays alone? He didn't reply to Maya's confession at the river, he even stopped sending purple roses for a while, he got engaged with Shiori, he acted bad to Maya at his engagement party...Maya is young, she deserves to get a life! If Masumi rejects her, she can't stay alone forever! I'm very sad, Masumi is a real idiot!!!I didn't like this volume very much mainly for this reason: not only there is no development in the relationship between Maya and Masumi, but the situation turned backward instead of going forward! Think of this: the situation is even worse than at the beginning of their love story: Masumi is engaged, Maya and Sakurakoji are like sweethearts! Even if Maya confessed her love, it was useless! Masumi doesn't understand anything!!!!!!!

2. Sakurakoji is taking advantage of the situation. I am getting mad! How can Masumi let him do that? It's only Masumi's fault!!!! Anyway, Sakurakoji has the right to try to conquer Maya, even if he knows she is not in love with him. But...He is engaged with Mai! He's unfaithful to her, and I can't forgive him for that!!!By the way, I do not like the couple Maya+Sakurakoji at all, so I will never be happy until they are together

3. I was very sad when Maya couldn't play Akoya and Kuronuma got angry! I wish the scene with Masumi playing Isshin had not been cut off from the Hana to Yume version! Sigh!

4. oh no! How long I will have to wait for the next volume? I feel so sad now!!!Will the short horror stories by Suzue Miuchi be as good as Garasu no Kamen? I don't think so, but it is said they are great...I will let you know!

By the way..Something funny: Oops! The mobile phone of Saurakoji couldn't exist at that time! This is a little error :) And, the characters are well drawn, but Hijiri's nose become bigger :p
Not a big problem though...

I wrote all my comments too soon after reading volume 42. I have to read it again and think more about it. I don't think I will change my mind too much. I expected much more from a volume which needed 6 years to be written.

I am buying tons of other manga, but I really enjoy only Orpheus no Mado.
I have to say that I still have to read the last 2 voumes I bought, and this is incredible! I have always read all the monthly manga in one go, and now I still have to read tankoubons published last month! I love Orumado, believe me, but I think I need more time and calm to appreciate it. I will read it again and again when I have more time. The drawings are still beautiful, even if the faces are getting so ugly!!!Especially Julius' face! Sigh!
Anyway, Riyoko Ikeda will always be my idol! :)

I also bought Koi Monogatari by Chiho Saito...I don't know why, but I can't resist her works, even if they are quite childish! After Magnolia Waltz I like her manga even more..Poor me!!!!

I have not many news as far as my job and private life is concerned. I had an other bad discussion with my father, and I took a decision. But I do not know if Heaven will help me! Anyway, I would like to stay in my hometown, do not ask me why. I couldn't answer. I have neither boyfriend nor friends here. But I truly love the calm and peaceful atmosphere of this lonely city called Trieste, and I adore its landscape, the sea and the mountains...I know I will have to move one day...Will I be homesick all life long? Poor me :)

I am so sorry that I haven't heard from some very good pen pals of mine. Especially from Yasuko, it's too many months I don't hear from her, I am very sad. I know she is busy, maybe she found a boyfriend. Oh, no, another good friend that abandons me only because she's got a boyfriend! No!!! I want to believe she is just busy ç_ç

Kate is also very busy...But I hope to hear from her soon! On March 18th she will celebrate her birthday, and I will write her again :) Sorry Kate, but I want to know your impression about the manga which I love and which you hate :)

I haven't been to the cinema and I missed many movies I wanted to watch. Sigh! But, I bought the DVD of Lady Hawke, one of my favorite movies ever. I would watch it again and again! I love it to distraction!!!!
