Katharine von Brennel
Born in a noble and
wealthy family, Katharine falls in love with Isaac who gave her
piano lessons, but he rejects her. This rejections only makes the
true nobility and heroism of Katharine's spirit to emerge: she
leaves her family and position to become an anonymous nurse in
Vienna, to follow Isaac. She transforms her love for a single man
into a love for all the sick and painful people, becoming an
example of self-sacrifice, pure but unrewarded.
